Most importantly, I am a parent of these two perfectly crazy little boys. Being a mother to Griffin and Calvin has without a doubt made me into a better person, challenged me to chase dreams, and filled my life so full of love.
Calvin is 2 years old. He definitely is the one that keeps us on our toes. Always full of high energy, this little momma’s boy just melts my heart. Watching them grow closer together as brothers has been an experience that is irreplaceable.
Griffin is almost 4 years old. Griff keeps me company in the kitchen and loves to try new foods. His favorite foods are pancakes, carrots, and apples. Such a super sensitive and sweet little soul he is.
I have a full time career as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. I currently have close to 10 years of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting, where I deal with anything from tube feedings and parenteral nutrition to diabetes education. I have a masters degree in the science of nutrition from Case Western Reserve University where I also completed an accredited dietetic internship with a focus in nutrition research.
In my spare time I have so much experimenting with healthy recipes. My passion for nutrition has also become a fun hobby for me and the boys as well. We have had so many amazing memories in the kitchen together. I strongly believe that key to a healthy lifestyle is creating healthy habits vs diet restrictions.
I’m not going to lie I do struggle daily on balancing my love for my home life and my work life. I am a wife to my husband , Kenny (who has no doubt been hand picked for me to be able to deal with my high energy, anxiety stricken, OCD tendency self). I also have a 14 year old step son, Aidan. He is at our house most weekends and it has been so nice watching him grow into a young man.
My boys make life so chaotic and yet amazing at the same time. I wouldn’t change this crazy life for anything.
My hobbies include RV camping trips, running, cooking and baking (obviously), nutrition related anything ;), golfing, tennis… just to name a few. I have 4 sisters and 2 sister-in-laws who I am also very close with and I have a ton of nieces and nephews that I love spending family time with.
I am going to use this space to share my knowledge on nutrition and healthy recipes in the most honest, real life, simplistic way I can. I am hoping to use my food blog to make people laugh, share stories, encourage each other and hopefully learn something along the way.
Of course my blog includes a lot of toddler nutrition topics/recipes because welp that is just my life right now. I mean after all Griffin and Calvin are my recipe testers they make this journey fun and worthwhile.
Family always comes first. I am proud of many things in my life but nothing beats being a mother.
Humor is how I get through most days. I strive to not take myself too seriously. I hope to bring some laughter into peoples lives as I blog about food & nutrition.
It is hard not to get stuck in a crazy lifestyle and forget to just relax and have FUN! I hope we can have fun together with funny pics and stories.
My Blog Goals
My ultimate goal is to help people realize the importance of good nutrition in their lives. Our health often takes a back seat to everything else going on.
I do not like the word perfection. I truly believe imperfections are the best things about people sometimes. I want to be as real and raw with my readers as possible.
Whether you’re a close knit family, single mother, single father… I want to help us realize as a family we can improve our nutrition through simple everyday lifestyle changes.
I want to incorporate the community in my nutrition mission. Even if I am just helping the life of one person I am helping the community.
“Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world.”
I cannot wait to hear from my readers. I hope we can help each other grow even more, by sharing our stories together.
